Why Do You Suffer?

Why Do You Suffer?

Parth: If someone blames you for what you have not done, why should it hurt? If you know the truth, why should it shake you? But it does, doesn’t it? Why? Not because of what they said, but because something within you is still uncertain, still vulnerable.

The words they speak are just sounds, yet they sting because, somewhere deep inside, you are still looking for validation. If you were utterly clear within yourself, their words would be like the wind passing by—they come, they go, but they do not shake you.

Now, you say you feel like a failure. Why? Did you fail, or did they just accuse you? Someone spoke a few words, and suddenly, you suffer. What does this mean? It means your suffering is not coming from the world; it is coming from within you. The external world is just a trigger.

A trigger works only when there is something to ignite. If your house is full of firewood, even a small spark can set it ablaze. But if there is no fuel, even if lightning strikes, nothing will burn.

So, the question is not about them; the question is about you. Accept it as it is, without judgment. You don’t need to tell them, justify yourself, or seek validation—just accept it within. See it as life’s way of doing things. Suddenly, what was a powerless experience within you becomes powerful, simply because you have embraced it as it is.

If you can bring acceptance into all levels of life—not just when things are pleasant, but even in the face of discomfort—then life will open possibilities in front of you that you never imagined. Because now, you are no longer caught in resistance; you are in flow with existence. And when you flow, life is no longer a struggle—it becomes a dance.

Are You Your Experiences?

You wake up in the morning, say good morning to your mother, freshen up, get dressed, go to work, talk to people, eat, come back, rest, and sleep. So many things you do in a day. But in all this doing—where are you?

Most people are so caught up in their activities that they start believing what they do is who they are. You do something good—someone appreciates you—you feel good. Someone criticizes you—you feel miserable. If others decide how you feel, is it not slavery?

A person walks up to you and says, “You are amazing,” and you feel great. Another comes and says, “You are useless,” and suddenly, you shrink. What does this mean? It means your experience of life is still controlled by the outside world. And this is why you suffer.

Now tell me, is sweetness you? No. Is sadness you? No. Is anger you? No. Then what are you?

These are just experiences happening within you, but you are treating them as yourself. This is why suffering is inevitable.

If you truly knew that these emotions are just passing waves in the ocean of your being, would they have the power to disturb you?

Why Do You Keep Coming Back to Negative People?

You say you try to avoid them, but you keep going back. Why? Because something within you is still incomplete.

What you resist, you are still attached to. If you were free, it wouldn’t matter whether they were there or not. The fact that they still have a grip on you means they are mirroring something within you that is unresolved.

When someone insults you, there are only two ways to respond. If you are completely clear within yourself, you laugh it off. But if it affects you, it simply means there is something within you that still needs work.

If I throw a stone into a still lake, ripples will form. If the lake is already stormy, the stone will create chaos. But if the lake is deep and still, the stone will simply sink without a trace.

Are you the stormy lake or the still one?

The Key Is Total Experience

Right now, you are fighting emotions—anger, pain, sadness. But tell me, have you ever truly experienced them in totality?

When anger comes, you resist. When sadness comes, you push it away. But have you ever fully embraced it?

The only way to transcend an experience is to go through it completely. If you truly become anger for a moment, you will see it clearly, and then it will drop away.

A person who has fully known anger, fully known sadness, fully known joy—when they complete the cycle of experiences, they are simply here. Nothing moves them anymore. If Shiva stands before them, they just watch. If Gautama Buddha comes, they just watch.

Because now, nothing fascinates them—they are a complete life by themselves.

But right now, you are incomplete. You are still seeking. That is why things shake you.

If you are ready, we can work to make you into a sophisticated vehicle—not a machine that runs on the fuel of praise or breaks down with criticism, but a being who walks through life untouched, unshaken, simply here, in full bloom.

Come, we shall see how to make this happen.
