The Illusion of Self-Realization and Enlightenment By Parth

The True Essence of Self-Realization and Enlightenment

Self-realization is not some absolute thing that you can touch, see, or hear. It is not a tangible object or concept that exists within the physical realm. It is a certain state of being, a quality that one can embody. The pursuit of self-realization, much like the notions of God or ghosts, often leads people down a path of imagination. These are not realities, but projections of one's mind, drifting off into illusion.

Self-realization is about understanding that it is you who has manifested this body and mind, according to the necessity that the environment and situations demand. You are in complete control of your body and mind to the extent that every moment becomes a conscious process—from birth, through death, and beyond. This realization is the highest kind of power that one can experience, a power that extends far beyond the boundaries of physical existence.

The Power Within

This energy is often perceived as the being that has manifested everything around us. If you ask, "What is it that keeps you from attaining this power?" the answer is simple: fear. Fear is the primary obstacle standing between you and your higher self. If a seeker had not been fearful, would they remain locked in the comforts of their four walls? The answer is no. Yet, many people remain stuck, too comfortable to step outside and seek what lies beyond their known reality. They say, "I am not into giving, I am only into taking."

The fundamental truth is this: if you only take, and never give, you cannot truly live. Look around you—people are engaging in charity, helping the poor, giving without expecting anything in return. Why do they do this? Do you think they were told to do so? No, it is simply the balance of life. The more you give, the more you receive. This is the natural order of creation. Forces beyond our understanding are constantly at play, ensuring that life remains in balance. If you are unaware of these forces, fear naturally arises. Fear is the seed from which anxiety, psychosis, and disease grow.

The Illusion of Self-Realization

We often speak of self-realization as a term to guide the ignorant mind toward a deeper understanding. However, self-realization is not some lofty goal or mystical achievement. It is not something you can hold or grasp. It is not a process of accumulation. It is a conscious process of shedding your illusions and seeing life as it truly is.

People come to me with the belief that if they simply take everything I say, they will become rich or powerful. They approach the teachings with the intention of gaining something—power, wealth, recognition. In doing so, they become humble, but not out of power. They are only humbling themselves as a trick to get what they want. Once they have what they desire, they proudly announce their self-realization or enlightenment. This is the problem with people today. They come not seeking wisdom or truth but seeking power.

True seekers don’t chase power. They come to see beyond the illusion, to experience life in its purest form.

Fear as the Divider

Fear is the only thing that divides the world into two distinct groups. In fear, you imagine God, and God appears. In anger, you imagine ghosts, and ghosts appear. In lust, you create a false world of your own desires. These are not realities; they are projections of your own mind. The truth is, you are not seeing life as it is. You are seeing life as your mind wants to see it.

Those who live in fear will remain in their comfort zones, clinging to their support systems—money, family, health. But without these supports, their world crumbles. On the other hand, those who are reactive—those who are dissatisfied with their lives—may seek something beyond the surface. If they are truly content, why would they search for an alternative path? They should already be happy with family and possessions. Yet, that is not the case. People come to me and ask, “Are you enlightened?” But they are not really asking for enlightenment. They are asking because they are curious about whether their current path will lead them to the highest state of being.

But this question itself reveals their misunderstanding. Enlightenment is not something that can be measured or labeled. It is not a state of achievement or acquisition. It is a state of seeing life as it is, beyond memory, beyond imagination.

The True Nature of Enlightenment

Enlightenment is the dead end of the mind—a state where there is no birth, no death, simply non-existence. It is not something that can be achieved. It is something that happens when all illusions fall away. Are you interested in such a state? If you have not yet seen life as it truly is, then the question of enlightenment should not even arise.

This misconception about enlightenment has hindered humanity's ability to take that first step toward true understanding. We have turned self-realization into a concept, a goal to be achieved, when it is, in fact, simply the process of seeing life without the filter of memory and imagination.

The Path to Clarity

Today, I invite you to simply let go of everything you know. Whatever you have seen, heard, or learned, throw it away. Sit in a relaxed position and let go of every thought, every memory, every image that your mind has created. Just sit. This is Shoonya—the state of nothingness.

The more you deepen this state, the clearer things will become. Life will begin to reveal itself to you in ways that words cannot describe. Like the sun, clarity will shine through the fog of your mind.

Remember, self-realization and enlightenment are not magical states to be acquired—they are the simple result of seeing life as it is. Let go of your illusions, and you will be free.

In a Nutshell

Self-realization is not some absolute thing that you can touch, see, or hear. It is a certain state one can be in, as a quality. So, when we talk about God or ghosts, these are one's imaginations that are going off the Rock. Self-realization is about realizing that it is you who has manifested this body and mind according to the necessity as per the environment and situations demanded, and you are in full control of this body and mind to the point that every moment becomes a conscious process from birth, death, and beyond. This is the highest kind of power one realizes in one's life and beyond.

So, generally, this energy is considered as the being that has manifested everything. If you ask, what is it that is keeping you from attaining this power? Isn't it your fear that is holding you back from taking the first step? If a seeker had not been fearful, would they remain in the comforts of four walls? They would say, "No, no! I'm not into giving, I’m only into taking." If you simply take, take, and take, without giving, you cannot live further. Do you see, people are doing charity, people are helping the poor. Why? Do you think someone told them to? No! Life is balancing out things. How much you give, that much you will get. That is how things work. This is the nature of creation. There are various forces making this simple thing happen, and if you do not know about it, naturally, you will become fearful. This is the start of disease in you. First fear, then anxiety, then psychosis, and you are off balance, which will spill over to the physical.

So, there is no such thing as self-realization either. This is just a term for the ignorant so that they can imagine it, but this is a controlled imagination. We are pushing you, pulling you with words so that you reach the final destination. But if you think by imagination you will reach, good luck to you. People come to me, to our program, thinking that if they take everything I say, they will be rich. So, they become humble not out of power, but as a trick to get things done. Once things are done, they go out and announce they are self-realized or enlightened. This is the whole problem with people. Do you think people are just crazy for the Guru? Well, do not go by what TV is showing. They are just after the power they saw in their Guru. Once they learn that, they want to come and announce their liberation.

So, there is only one thing that divides the world into two: that is fear. In fear, you imagine God, God appears; in anger, you imagine a ghost, the ghost appears; in lust, you cook your own food in your head. These are not realities; they are just simple nonsense going on in your head. What it means is you are not seeing life as it is. So, the fearful ones will sleep in their comfort, thinking they managed a whole lot of support systems. Without support, their so-called money, family, and health crumble. On the other hand, the ones who are reactive might seek this path. Otherwise, if they are really self-satisfied and content, why would they seek an alternative? They should be happy by now with family and jewels. But it is not so. People come to me and ask, "Are you enlightened?" They are not seeking enlightenment; they are just curious and concerned about where they have come. If where they have come will lead to the highest, or if I am just giving psychological courses. I tell them you don’t know whether I am enlightened or not because there is no marker to say that. If I say I am enlightened, do you feel anything? If I say I am not enlightened, you will come, sit near me, and talk about all nonsense, trying to convince me as to how life has systematically destroyed you. Their idea of enlightenment is not coming as the ultimate end; their idea is ultimate power. They don’t see a Guru as the ultimate end, they see the power he holds. Now they want the power, that’s it. So, if I say I am enlightened, they will do all kinds of rubbish acts and tricks so that they can get this power too, and once they get a little feel of power, they start behaving as if they are the ones ruling existence. This is simply lust showing up as love for the Guru.

Enlightenment is the dead end, no birth, no death, simply non-existence. Are you interested? One who has seen everything can only talk about enlightenment. One who has not seen life yet, the question of enlightenment should not arise. This misconception has destroyed humanity's ability to take a step and see what is what. So, self-realization and enlightenment are not some magic or power you receive, or any state of achievement. It is to see things without memory and imagination, to see things as they are. Just do this today: what you know, throw it away. Whatever you saw, throw it away; whatever you hear, throw it away. Just sit straight in a relaxed position and throw everything you hear, see, or know. Simply sit. This is Shoonya. The more you deepen this state, the clearer things will become, like the sun.
